SUMMERTIME HAS ARRIVED!

Indeed, summer is officially here on Popponesset Bay!  That means, fun in the sun! Whether you are a bird watcher, a beach goer, or a boating enthusiast, you know this time of year is very special on Poppy Bay.  Save Popponesset Bay (SPB) is making sure you have a wonderful time however you enjoy the Bay.

No doubt by now you have visited The Spit and seen how great it is – sooo much bigger, and better than ever!  There are numerous hatchlings of plovers and terns enjoying themselves on the Bay (please avoid the nests which are marked off with fencing).  And a reminder, no dogs are allowed on The Spit now through Labor Day.  We understand this is a bummer for some people, but it’s important to maintain safe and secure nesting areas for the birds.

Please stop by our new sign board (see photo) for updated information on our annual dinner, golf tournament and other fantastic outings.  To register for our Toast to the Coast on July 24, simply click here: Toast to the Coast Party β€” Save Popponesset Bay.

We also must remind everyone, no fires on The Spit.  And, whatever you bring onto The Spit, please take it with you.  On more than one occasion we (our SBP volunteers) have spent several hours walking The Spit collecting trash left behind and dealing with burnt logs.  If you see something, say something.  We want everyone to enjoy the new and improved Spit!

Hope to see you, and many more of our friends and neighbors on July 24 when together we Toast the Coast!
